EasyRead Writing was founded on the belief that all people are entitled to information they can read and understand.
As a plain language advocate, I have dedicated the last 17 years of my writing career to informing the public about plain language, health literacy, and writing information that is easy to read and understand. I work with health and science organizations, academic institutions, and nonprofits to help them communicate in plain language.
I have been a writer and editor for over 20 years, mostly in the health and science fields. I have also managed a pediatric literacy and health literacy program at a public hospital and have worked in other public health care programs. Before launching my public health writing career, I spent 25 years managing bookstores large and small and volunteering in literacy initiatives. I also practice my advocacy work as a volunteer in communitiy initiatives. I have a BA in anthropology from the University of New Mexico.
